Glutaric aciduria(type 1) is characterized clinically by progressive dystonia and dyskinesia in childhood, pathologically by degeneration of caudate and putamen, biochemically by tissue deficiency of glutaryl-CoA dehydrogenase(GCDH), and is transmitted as an autosomal recessive traits.
